Michael Hasselmo is the William Warren Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Boston University and Director of the Center for Systems Neuroscience. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University as a Rhodes Scholar before earning a D.Phil. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford.

His research combines computational modeling with neurophysiological experiments to investigate the neural circuits underlying symbolic processing and memory encoding. He has been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He has published more than 325 scientific articles and chapters.
